Travel
Travel is charged at $1.20 plus gst per kmTravel is calculated using Google Maps distance estimation between our location and your appointment address. This is automatically calculated and displayed in our booking system when making an appointment.
How it works: First 10 kilometers from the Palmerston North Square: $0.00. Every kilometer beyond 10km: Charged at the current IRD kilometre rateMinimum travel charges maybe apply.
Example: For a property 26 kilometers away:First 10km = $0.00. Next 16km @ $1.20/km = $19.20. Total travel fee = $19.20+GSTFor current rates, refer to the IRD Kilometre rate 2025-2026.
Payment terms
Payment Terms are Strictly 7 Days from the Date of Invoice unless previously agreed. Automated email reminders are sent when outstanding invoices are 7, 14 and 21 days overdue.
Cancellation or Rescheduling
Clients who cancel or reschedule a confirmed booking (written or verbal) within 3 hours of the scheduled shoot time without good reason may be required to pay a cancellation fee of 80% of the total order value, charged at our discretion. This will be discussed at the time of cancellation. The fee is in place to cover lost income from work that could have been scheduled in that time, along with any time and travel costs incurred.
Note: Real estate agents are responsible for checking the weather before scheduling a shoot. While we will assist as much as possible, we rely only on www.metservice.co.nz for weather reports. If it is raining during the scheduled shoot time and you prefer to proceed, we can focus on interior shots and return for exterior photos at another suitable time for a fee. If you prefer not to have wet grounds in your photos, please reschedule the shoot at least 3 hours before the booking time. Contact us to arrange a reshoot for any parts missed due to weather conditions. A reshoot fee will apply.
Property Preperation
Before our team arrives, please ensure the house is ready, lights on and rubbish bins removed. We are booked to take photos and video and not to move furniture or any other items that may impact on the visual presentation of the property. However, we will coordinate with the agent and vendor to tidy smaller areas of the home if needed as we shoot. Please notify us as soon as possible of any specific requirements at the property. If certain areas of the house are inaccessible and require a return visit, a fee of $275 +GST per hour will apply.
Shoot Day
We allocate a specific amount of time to deliver our products and services to the highest standard. We strongly recommend that no people or pets are present during the scheduled shoot in order to complete the job in a timely and professional manner.
If vendors are required to be present and their presence obstructs or impacts the time available at the property, we reserve the right to reduce the product offering to fit within the time allocated. Alternatively, a reshoot fee of $275 +GST per hour will apply to return and capture the outstanding content.
Reshoot
If you or your vendor are dissatisfied with the photos, video, or floor plans, please reach out to hello@hiresmedia.co.nz, and we will promptly address your concerns. If the dissatisfaction stems from reasons beyond Hi-Res Media's control, a reshoot fee of $275 +GST per hour will apply to return and capture the content.
Archive Projects
Hi-Res Media will retain photo, video and flooplan projects for up to 90 days. If you require access to footage or projects older than 90 days, you can purchase storage for $25+gst per month for your listing. Please contact us to arrange.
Usage Licence
When clients (as named on the invoice) purchase photography or videography services, they are acquiring a one-time limited licence for the content produced. This licence covers use within the specific marketing campaign the media was commissioned for only. Should another agency take over the listing, the content must be re-licensed before it can be used again. The billed agency or agent must not share, transfer, or pass on any media material to a third party without our prior written consent.
Vendors may retain images for their own personal memories, however the media may not be used to promote a business, in print, on a website, in any commercial listing including Airbnb, or as a private sale or rental listing.
Hi-Res Media retains copyright on all photography and videography work, unless purchased by arrangement.
Hi-Res Media's Standard Photographic Terms & Conditions of Engagement
If a client wishes to share images supplied by Hi-Res Media, permission must be requested with full use disclosure to allow Hi-Res Media to establish whether a fee is applicable. Typical costs for re-licensing of real estate media is 80% of the original product and/or service value.
Where possible, Hi-Res Media asks that clients kindly provide a credit when using photographs supplied under a free multi-use licence. A credit should read — Photo Supplied by Hi-Res Media. When posting images on social media, please tag — Hi-Res Media.
Images supplied commercially must not be reproduced as works of art, or shared for re-sale or re-use by a third party, without prior written consent.
Promotional use of images by Hi-Res Media under copyright
The Photographer (Laurence Prince) retains the right in all cases to use photographs and video taken by him, for the purposes of advertising or otherwise promoting his work on the following social media platforms:
